Got to meet some awesome people at today’s fur free protest outside KITSON on Robertson Blvd.
First things first, how adorable is Crystal? (She’s giving the bunny ears) I ❤ her! She’s super fun and a damn good animal activist.
Second, I was so excited to meet Lauren. She’s only 13 and already a super star activist. She brought her mom and their three dogs. That’s what you call a rock star family. 👍
And last, but certainly not least, Heather. (Bottom right holding the “Ask Kitson” sign) I’m so happy to have met her. She’s a doll and has a huge heart. ❤ She’s driven up from San Diego for every protest this fall.

We target individual stores for the most impact. Without that kind of specificity, we wouldn’t have gotten Planet Blue, Urban Outfitters, LF Stores, True Religion, Dolls Kill, and Brandy Melville to all go fur free!
We are pro faux. Both Planet Blue and Dolls Kill came out with a line of their own faux fur after going fur free. If there’s a market for leather and fur, let’s make it fake.
We don’t want these stores to go out of business, we want them to be in the business of compassionate fashion.

INTERMIX’s merchandise has been overtaken with rabbit fur. They’re selling rabbit fur coats, vests, scarves, blazers, mittens, hats, and ponchos.
It takes 40 rabbits for ONE fur coat.

Our first protest outside Kitson was rained on, and we didn’t get to kick off our campaign with the same gusto we would have liked. So we’ll be back in action on December 1st from 1-4pm.

Most of KITSON’s fur is from a brand called “Dolce Cabo.” These coats and vests are labeled as “Rabbit / Raccoon Fur” and they’re all Made In China.
Now I’d like to point out that raccoons themselves are not native to Asian countries, however raccoon dogs are. Any “raccoon fur” that’s made in China, is actually Raccoon Dog (also known as Tanuki.) They are a part of the canine family.
Regardless of what species, animals raised and slaughtered on Chinese fur farms suffer tremendously. Their entire lives are spent behind the bars of their tiny cages, only to be taken out to be beaten and killed.
China has virtually no animal protection laws, so our best way to fight this barbaric industry is with our dollars. Without demand, there will be no supply of animal abuse.
I urge you NOT to shop at stores like KITSON and INTERMIX as long as they sell real fur. They keep the fur trade, one of the most vapid and cruel industries, alive and kicking. Shop with compassion. Shop fur free!

These picture do not do any justice to just how hard it rained today. ☔ It was pretty miserable outside, but that didn’t stop these amazing activists from showing up to today’s #furfree protest outside Kitson.
It was so rainy I was worried no one would show up, but @hrossetti16 @buff_doods @creestaaal and @xtagorix did and I couldn’t have done it without them.
